Our Story

We’re Loose Cannon! We are a production company made up of three young producers that met studying acting in downtown Chicago at Roosevelt University. During our time in undergrad, we found ourselves falling in love with characters and scripts and having no outlet to share them with the world outside of our peers. Hungry for a chance to see these stories come to life and impatient with waiting for someone else to give us permission, we decided to try our hand in producing theatre.

In what feels like an absolute whirlwind of passion, creativity, and constant evolution, we are approaching the presentation of our fifth production and fourth season of theatre making.

Meet Our Team

Nick Alfano (they/them) is Artistic and Marketing Director for Loose Cannon here in Chicago. They are honored to have started this journey alongside Greta and Cameron and couldn’t be more excited for the future. Alfano’s previous directing credits include: The Maiden’s Prayer, The River, and Gruesome Playground Injuries (Loose Cannon), Hell (Bump in the Night Theatre), Give Us A Smile (Creative 360), among others.

Greta Schultz (she/her) is currently the Managing Director and Co-Producer of Loose Cannon. She co-founded the company as a means to take active control over the trajectory of her career, rather than wait for a project to come her way and hopes that this company grants the same opportunity to other local artists. Greta is signed with Stewart Talent in Chicago and is a signed model across the US. Greta has taken the stage in three of Loose Cannon’s past productions and independantly, she recently made her acting debut at Sundance Film Festival in Georgia Bernstein’s erotic thriller, Night Nurse.

Cameron Schmalz (he/him) is currently the Technical Director and Co-Producer of Loose Cannon. As well as co-founder, he has been producing for Loose Cannon since its inception. Loose Cannon’s recent produced works include Gruesome Playground Injuries, Stopkiss, The River, Maidens Prayer. He’s an Alum of Roosevelt University.
